How is the smart cover?

Did anyone buy the smart cover? My Pro is being delivered tomorrow and I'm contemplating ordering a smart cover that would hopefully arrive then too.

What is the part like that attached to the Pro? Is it completely covered material that sticks to the Pro or is there some exposed metal that could wear away the Pro finish over time?

The last time I tried a smart cover was iPad 2 and at that time, there were some areas that were metal that snapped onto the iPad and many reported some marks on the iPads over time.

I didn't know if that changed and the magnetic and hinge part might be completely covered in material now?

Picked mine up today.
The Smart Cover is exactly like the Smart Cover for the iPad Air/Air 2 and the iPad mini. Except bigger.
(No metallic or exposed hinge; flexible material is used as a hinge)

 

[iPhone1]

Smart Cover sticks out a bit when folded back. Not quite as nice as the Air version. Try before you buy.
