Were some of the early reviews overblown with scratches on the Ti coating?

I have a AW7 natural Ti that is essentially flawless, and I am not careful with it at all, so I am particularly interested in this before considering an upgrade.

Am hoping to get to AS (200 miles away) next week and see what the demo watches look like, but what is the experience of this forum?

I'd like to know as well. Considering trading in my S9 in order to upgrade my significant other's S6 to an AL S10. Then grabbing a S10 Nat Ti while they're fairly discounted on Amazon for Black Friday. Mostly it would be for the Sapphire screen though. That said, I bang my watch around periodically at work, on sharp steel and whatnot, so I'm also looking for a stronger overall casing. I hate having to use stupid TPU screen protectors on the Ion X glass, but if I don't I'd have a ton of scratches. Really my concern is the shiny polished Ti of the watch body. So DOES it scratch easily? Understand it hasn't been out too long but I want to hear worst case scenarios. And yes I know AL is the worst and scratches easier than any of them but it IS half the price so I've never really felt like it was a luxury item. A $700 watch on the other hand...

Using a Natural Ti Series 10 since release and it looks new.

I would imagine if you're banging it up on metal it's gonna show some wear--but the Natural color is going to do the best at hiding that damage. It sounds like you'd be a good candidate for getting the Black Ultra 2 since it has a DL-coating. If you bump your watch into something, chances are you're going to damage the thing you bumped lol

My launch day 15 Pro Natural Titanium is still immaculate, not a scratch on it.

As suggested, I think the natural will be the most durable option long term.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought this as well about the nat Ti Ultra earlier this year and tried one for about a week. Didn't like the weight on my wrist but I'm sure I could've gotten used to it. The main issue was the size and how much it sticks out and catches on things. I scratched the metal lip around the screen scraping it against a swinging steel door after only a couple days, and that was me being "careful". It's just too bulky for my line of work and adding a case to a watch that already looked huge on a 160mm wrist was out of the question. And while I really do like the sleeker look of the black Ultra and might be willing to give it another shot, it seems the hardness rating of DLC is on par with higher grade steel. Meaning I will definitely scratch it at some point haha.
