How it possible to unlock ihpone witout sim card.

I just bought a Iphone 2.1. It does not have a sim card in it. It was never hacked, Can i unlock it so i can get in the phone or do i need to go buy a sim card?
If sooo, do i need to go buy a att sim card to unlock it and then sprint sim card?

Newbie is an understatement for this OP.

2.1 is a firmware, did you buy the plastic back 3G or the original first gen? Sim card is more than just a simple chip you put in, and if you bought a 3G, nevermind trying to unlocking it.

Hate to be the one to break this to you, but Sprint is not GSM and doesn't have sim card.

sorry, sprint and iphone will not work no matter how hard you try, you need a GSM carrier like t-mobile or at&t, also like said above, tell us if you have the 3g or first generation iphone.
