I know that Apple tends to update some macs in October. How likely do you think the Mac Mini will be upgraded to a M3 chip? How about a Mac Mini Pro?

Guess: towards 0%. Else, there would be a fair amount of rumors this far into SEP. There's even doubts there will be an October event.

My guess is a press release or two in October updating iMac to M2 and the iPad Air rumor probably becomes reality too. Neither seems big enough to do an event like we just saw for iPhone.

M3 probably waits for 2024... unless it starts raining seemingly credible rumors this coming week.

This does bring to mind an interesting question.

When the M3 are released {in 2024} will Apple release Mac mini M3 first or will they wait to release Mac mini M3 and Mac mini M3 pro together? Not to obvious since this will be the 1st update for the Mac min pro. And I believe historically that Pro chip are not included in the initial release with the baseline chips.

I would guess together later but that is a pure guess. I would think an M3 iMac will be in the initial release of M3 machines (since it is so overdue). Apple would like the low end desktop offerings to concentrate on this new iMac without being overshadowed with a new Mac mini.

Thanks! I was thinking the same thing, that updating the Mac Mini and not the pro version would be odd. And normally it seems the MacBook Air and iPad pros get the base M chip first and moves up the product chain.
