How long a wait for the white iPhone 4S?

The local Verizon store said the wait for the 4S is at least a month.

Is it really only 1-2 week wait on the Apple online store?

Anybody know?
 
I ordered 32 gig white from apple.com on Nov 1st and it is scheduled for delivery on Thursday the 10th.
 
Ordered a 16GB white one from att.com on 11/3, shipped 11/5, will get here tomorrow 11/7
 
Order 16GB white on 10/28, just went off backorder today, will probably get it next week - so it will be like a 3 week wait for me until I get it.
 
I just walked into an Apple store tonight and bought a white iPhone 4s. They had a bunch in stock. Hope you get yours sooner than later! It is amazing.
 
Thanks for the replies. I just ordered two online. Very pi$$ed that the Verizon rep told me he would have it today (which he said a week ago), then another person when I go to pick it up says they wouldn't have any for a month.

I will wait 2 weeks rather than deal with liars. They probably would have tried to give me a used one anyways.

Will miss out on not being able to swap pay with the next version, but there really are not that many places around here that would utilize it anyways.

it all depends on the storage size you get. it seems like the 32gb/64gb are shipping out wayy faster than the expected ship dates and the 16gb.
 
Tonight at 9PM, all the Apple stores in my area had just about every model available for all carriers. First time I have seen that in over a week.
 
I ordered a 64 gb white AT&T from Apple.com on 11/3 and they said expected delivery was 11/17 - 11/25, but it is out for delivery today. I think it is a combo of the size + color that allowed me to get it so fast.
 
Good News

Update: Both phones have already shipped. Expected arrival is Nov. 15th.

Shipping date was actually 2 days as order was placed late evening on Nov. 7th via the Apple store.
 
There always seems to be white and black iPhone 4S's of at least one capacity (16 32 or 64GB) for Verizon at the Apple stores near me, if you get in right at 9:00pm every evening. They do go quick though.

I was able to get a White AT&T 64GB 4S yesterday, having reserved Monday night.
 
I ordered my white 16GB iPhone 4S from Fido (Canada) 2 1/2 weeks ago and still waiting. I hope I don't have to wait much longer. My 3G is at snail pace now.
 
I Ended up going to my local bestbuy during lunch to buy a white 32gb AT&T and they only had one 64gb white left in stock so I grab that one. Hassle free and no waiting. Good luck guys !!!!!!!!
 
I was in the same boat as you (Just wanting a black one and every verizon store had white). I ordered mine on Sunday, the site said it would ship on Friday. But yesterday (Tuesday) I noticed on my bank statement that I had been charged from Verizon. I got the shipping notice Tuesday night and received my 4S Wednesday morning. So you have a little hope it won't be two weeks!
 
Hit up a Target.

I had my upgrade date moved up so I just walked in and bought a white 4S 16 gig last week. Bunch of iPhones were available in my area Targets.
 
Got the black iPhone on October 21st and my local Apple Store has only had the white 16GB in stock 3 times. Finally was able to get it today. It's also changed from reservation only to first come first served basis at Apple Stores as well as reservations.
