Anytime within 30 days of purchase. I got mine the day i got my iPhone 5 in case anything like water damage happens.

Ok great I'm sure as long as its not had water damage or anything like that.

So if I were to buy a iPhone 5 that was purchased by someone else less than a month ago, once I buy it I could add Apple Care Plus?

Every iPhone comes with one year of hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary support. AppleCare+ for iPhone extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPhone and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $49 service fee.

30 days from time of purchase. There is simply no way at the retail level to add on AC+ after 30 days. If you crack your screen and/or get liquid damage inside, you can pay for applecare+ on top of the replacement device fee through the genius bar.

Not sure if you purchased your iPhone new or used, but I purchased a used iPhone 5 a couple of weeks ago and was told via Apple Support chat that it was not eligible for AppleCare+.

It's 30 days from the original purchaser purchase date. If you bought it from someone else, the 30 days starts from the date of the original purchaser, not 30 days from when you got it. Does this help ?

Yes it does but we just stated that above BTW.

Yes it helps. But that original purchaser wouldn't have to be the one to buy it correct? In other words...I can buy the Apple Care Plus?

Look into squaretrade

I buy their coverage instead, I think it is better coverage for a little less

Got it for my MBA and phone
My phone croaked after 22 months - I took it to Apple store & gave them $149 for a refurb
Forwarded receipt to square, had a check a few days later for $149

Insurance cost $85...
