I never had one, but want one this year. I think of Apple TV as that second class citizen after the iPhone or Mac. How long does it take for deals to show up on the newest Apple TV?

I got a pretty good deal on my two Apple TV 4s in Nov/Dec from Radio Shack. I think they were released in October.

That is great to hear! Do you happen to recall how much of a discount you got on each?
I am looking for reasons to hold off on preordering as soon as they are available.

Somewhere around $30-$50 plus each came with an HDMI cable. It was widely talked about on this forum (that's how I found out about it) so others might remember more detail.

Black Friday is probably your best bet, assuming these units are released tomorrow, or shortly thereafter. Check out the usual suspects, MacMall, Adorama, B&H, Amazon, Best Buy, etc.

Also, new merchandise often shows up on Apple's own Refurb Store after about three months or so, usually with 10-15% savings, sometimes even more.
