How long before iTunes account verification e-mail?

Just registered for a new iTunes account and am awaiting for the verification e-mail. It has been over 30 minutes and still no e-mail. How long does this e-mail usually take to arrive in your inbox? I would assume it would be almost instantaneous.

EDIT: Just got it! Looks like it's taking about 40 minutes at the present time.

It took 2 days to get mine. the receipts for purchase also take a couple of days.
