just wondering if i used the ipad as a music player and plugged in headphones with the screen turned off, how long would the battery last with ONLY music (never opening any other apps)? I'm assuming it would last longer than 10 hours?

Also, another question, after selecting a song to play in the ipod app, is there any way for the song's album cover NOT to pop up and bring me to a new screen, and keep the "itunes-like interface" there?

Yes, it will last much longer. I recall one review of the original iPad that tested this, but can't remember exactly what they came up with. IIRC, it was a couple of days or more and it still had battery left.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

It Lasted me More than 40 hours without any charging when I took it on a trip to Mexico.
