I am currently about 2/3 of the way through a restore and I seem to be stuck. It has been running for about two hours total. When doing a factory restore how long should it typically take?

Thanks

you are doing a complete restore by way of iTunes correct?

I have never heard of nor experienced 2 hours for any iPod and I can't imagine an iPhone with a much smaller capacity would take this long. I would honestly just disconnect, do a restart by holding down the power off and home button for about 7 seconds. Then let it chill for a about a minute. Turn it on and see what the deal is. If whatever caused you to need to do the restore still is happening now try to restore once again. Also sometimes having other devices in the usb ports can make iTunes restore act up.

Thanks for the reply. I finally disconnected (iTunes had crashed) and reset the phone and tried again. Got a 1603 error. Tried multiple times to restore and kept getting the same error. I thought that I had bricked the phone. So, I took it home and tried it on my home computer. Worked like a champ. Sync'ed it up and I'm in business. For some reason my office computer does not play well with the iPhone.

ok i have a 16GB ipod nano and i tried to restore it and it was going for over an hour so i disconnected it. i turned my computer off then turned it back on and tried to restore it again. it has now been going for 20 minutes and is still not done. i dont know what to try now.

why is my so stupid?!

I've just recently tried to restore my iPod and it took forever. I had to leave it going overnight and it was still going. I don't know whats wrong with it but its really pissing me off. I can't sync more songs on my iPod or do anything with it and its really annoying.
