How long does SMS take to open? (iPhone 1G)

I just got the iPhone only recently and have used 2.0.2 and just got 2.1. It's jailbroken and unlocked.

It takes about 9 seconds for me, and I only have like 10 messages... is this normal? It's annoying

I have a 1G as well, though, it is not jailbroken or unlocked.

Before, 2.1, it used to take a few seconds to load up, but now, it takes only a second. I had thousands of messages, though.

I suspect the jailbreaking/unlocking is causing your problem.

My Pwned 1G is running 2.0.2 and like Linuss' (although s/he is running 2.1) my SMS takes no more than 3 seconds max, in fact at the moment it seems to be opening instantaneously but it would be interesting to see how it would fair with 2.1.

My SMS app opens straight away, but how long for the message(s) to come up?
