I got this combo a few weeks back and I really like it, but I noticed the battery life isn't too great. I've already turned off the backlighting on the keyboard.

How long does a charge last for you if you have the same keyboard and/or mouse?

That will vary a lot for different users and various usage.

The mouse is fine wrt battery time, but the keyboard leaves something to be desired, and having had it for a few years, it won`t get any better, I can promise you that. Kind of a point with backlighting, would have got Apple`s own otherwise.

A question re the Logitech MX keys board...

When you have the USB charging cable plugged in, does the keyboard still function "as a keyboard"?

In the same way that a wired keyboard works?

As far as I`m aware, the USB C port is power only, no signal. So, you`ll need B/T or Unified. Have used Unified due to som issues with BT on my old MBP and the spare also old Thinkpad. Unified is a type of "Propietary bluetooth", and the connections is way more stable both on Mac and in Linux using the unified receiver. Which sadly is USB A.

When I regularly used MX keys it seemed to last 3-4 weeks before I needed to charge. This was used at my previous job so it was used daily for 6-8 hours depending on what I needed to type. MX master 2s as well. And that usually lasted a little longer than the keyboard. I would get 1-2 months before needing a charge. My current setup is more mac with MX Anywhere as my primary mouse and Magic Touchpad as secondary each flanking my magic keyboard. The Mx ANywhere seems to last me about 2 months before I Need to charge it. But I regularly check it and I rarely let it get down below 50% when I charge it up after those 2 months or so. SO it would probably go longer than that. But I only use this at home for 4-6 hrs a day?

Did you have the backlighting on?
