I'd like to know how long your laptop runs for on battery alone.

Actually, I'm generally more interested in knowing the times people are getting with the new 12" PB when compared with the 1st generation 12" PB and the 12" iBook. Same can be asked about the 15" TiBook and the new 15" AluBook. I have heard some dismal numbers being thrown around for the 15"er.

3.5 to 4 Hours...
Original 12" PB, screen brightness on 1 notch and all energy saving settings

I get around 3hours 20mins (enough to watch Lord of The Rings) with the screen brightness set to full. I have a PB G4 Ti550 (15inch).

My iBook lasts about 4 hours at full brightness, with Airport turned on. I know this for a fact because I have a 3-hour long class at night, and the iBook is usually at 95% at the beginning of the class (after being asleep for 10 hours or so in my bag), and is at about 25% at the end of the class.

Also, I once watched a full-length DVD movie on my iBook while it was on battery power, and it only took the battery down to 40%! Amazing. Try doing that with any other laptop :)

Well because of a Problem where my Battery goes from 20% to 0% instantly, I only get 3.5 hours on my 500Mhz TiBook in OSX.

Mine's doing that now too... very annoying. And it seems to have just started recently. I wonder if it's time for a new battery? Still under a year old too.
