How long for updates to be available in Apple Stores?

Just wondering if anyone can recount how long it took for updates to hardware to be available in Apple Stores. Obviously they're available online as soon as they're released, but I might be forced to purchase from an Apple Store as I have a gift card that can't be used online (Canadian gift card regulations). Thanks.

Depends...

Usually, at the announcement, Apple says when the Apple Stores are likely to have them. Most the time with computers the Apple Store has had some the day of releases, if they are announced like that. Occasionally there are some oddities, like with the iPod touch, where there was a small supply, then none available for a month, then a larger supply, then another two weeks...
