I've had my Core Duo (1.83 Ghz) MacBook Pro since May of last year, and it is the first Mac I've ever owned. I bought it refurbished and have never been so pleased with a product. I was rather suprised it came with an upgraded hard disk (100gb 7200 RPM SATA) and an extra 512 mb of ram for no extra charge. Maybe I was lucky?

Even after all these months of use it still feels new. The battery life has held up and the only problem I encountered was a slightly loose latch that seems to have fixed itself. I've never had heat problems or hissing/mooing noises reported with revision A MacBook Pros.

Overall a great improvement over my previous laptop, a Pentium II Dell Latitude that I saved from being thrown away in early 2006.

I got my 17" about two weeks before the free iPod promotion last May, about the same time as you. Mine was new, and since then I've had the lcd, the logic board, and the isight replaced. I still have a whine when I have bluetooth on but nothing connected to it, but Fan Control really helps with the heat that I do occasionally get. All in all, however, I am really in love with this computer. I think this is the first time I can truly say that I am soo thrilled an in love with my computer (never had that feeling with windowz boxes...).

I've had my MBP 2.0GHz for 4 months, I bought it 2 weeks before the C2D (mine doesn't have grain). It'll probably last a good 4 or 5 more...months :D, actually it has to last 2 years, as I have to save for college and all that :(.

I have a macbok That i have had since August, Itll last me a while as my next computer will be a desktop, not a laptop.

Coconut battery says 3 Months. Im inclined to believe it. I need to stop this 6 month cycle of using laptops, its unhealthy.

i got my macbook in mid december. i'd been struggling with the decision to get one since the core 2 duos came out (just a couple weeks earlier). i'm glad i did, but it felt like core 2 duo macbooks had been around forever when i got mine.

lol this thread wont really serve any kind of purpose, but i've had my C2D MBP since early November. Week 43: no problems, yet.

I've had my refurb MacBook Core Duo (black) for 2 days now. Paid $999, got a free upgrade to 1GB, and the machine is flawless. I've wanted a mobile Mac ever since I bought my first Mac (an iMac) last September. This little thing is fantastic.

I also wanted to note that my MacBook, although the "first-gen" Core Duo model, does not get hot at all. I seem to remember a lot of posts and complaints about how incredibly scalding hot the machine would get. As of right now, I've been using it in front of the TV for 3.5 hours, with it directly on my lap. I've been surfing the web, doing some layouts in FireWorks, emails, and have had Parallels running the whole time. The computer is quite warm, but not uncomfortably hot. In fact, I couldn't keep my old Dell on my lap this long. I can place the back of my hand against the bottom of the MacBook and not be bothered to remove it. So it seems that Apple has addressed this problem in the refurbs, because as far as computers go this is downright cool.

I've had my MBP for 2 weeks now. I loved it for the first week and a half, and even bought a wireless Mighty Mouse for it, but now that I've started to try and integrate it with everything else I own (Linksys WRT54G wireless router, Windows XP SP2 PC, etc.) I'm realizing that it's not such an easy computer to use. I'm finding it impossible to get it to see my shared windows files, even though the PC can easily access the mac's shared folders. If I can't get this to work, I might have to sell this and get something else.

I got my current MacBook Pro right before Christmas. Before that, I had a MacBook for about 5 months. Love 'em both, but the big screen on the MacBook Pro really does it for me. :)

I have had my Macbook Pro for a year. First Mac and it will not be the last.

Had a white macbook in May 2006

Returned and got a black macbook in June 2006 - this has had problems. Logicboard replaced, HDD died.

Just bought a refurb macbook pro to replace it.

I've had my Macbook 2.0 C2D since 1st December. £808 instead of £879... Apples sale day :)

I'm really pleased with it, although, I really did want a MBP... nevermind, we're getting shot of the PB soon, the screen is rather wobbly and sometimes when you boot it up, you just get a black screen, so you have to do it again... meh... good job its all backed up!
