How long is that grace period for OS upgrades

I'm buying a macbook alum tomorrow and I know in the past that if an OS was released within a certain amount of time of purchase, you'd get it for free. How long is that period.

and when is 10.6 coming out.

It's usually about a month.

10.6 will be out next year but 99% unlikely it's January... prob. somewhere between April and October inclusive. We expect to hear more news about it at MacWorld San Francisco on the 20th of Jan. More rumors will be posted in the main news forum when and if they appear.
