Can anyone tell me roughly how long the charger is? My first laptop had a really long lead (about 12'!) and I really miss it with my current laptop. Considering buying the air but can't seem to find info on this! Thanks

I can't give you an exact length but my wife is currently using hers 3 meters away from the power point she is plugged in to and it still has plenty of slack on it to go further.

It seems the same length as any other mac charger from the last 4/5 years if you have had one of those.

Getting conflicting answers here! 6 feet is quite short! Can it be extended at all?

A little over 11 feet with the supplied extension cable. I think it's about 6 ft without.

You're not asking your question clearly and people are guessing what you mean. The charger is about 2.5" square. The cord from the charger to the computer is about 6ft. The cord from the charger to the wall is about 6ft.

Extend the latter part as far as you want.

Ah ok thank you all that's good news! Sorry if it was confusing , we would generally call the whole thing the charger in Ireland whereas you probably call it the power cord/cable etc

I guess the issue is more than that. With the Magsafe chargers, you have two lengths, per se. The transformer/charger itself is a small box. On one of its ends, there's a cord that goes to your PC. On the other end, you have a choice of two pieces: one of them consists basically of the prongs that connect to the wall; the other is an extension cable that on has the wall prongs on the other end.

Out of the box there is a power brick/wall wart that has a flip out plug on it(like the iPad charger if you've seen one of those) that wire is ~2m and there is also a ~2m extension cord that you slide the plug off the brick and slide the end of the extension on.

Note: the 2m extension cord also works on iPad charger. I keep one coiled under my coffee table and one at my desk so whichever charger I want can just hook up to that instead of having to fiddle with plugging in to the wall

see how the plug is a separate piece?
