How long macbook repair

I sent my macbook in for repair of its RSS on monday. On wenesday they said 'waiting for a part', and its not there yet, how long can I expect for it to be back. If its useful I'm in the UK, and am going to pick it up directly from UPS. Im pretty desperate as I use it for school, and whenever I say its in for repair I get the usual 'Macs suck'. Anyone with experience please speak up! Thanks
