i just got my 3gs in the mail today around 4 and activated it right then. my old phone is now bricked so i know it went through but my new iphone still says no service. how long should it take to get service on this thing? should i call AT&T tomorrow if its still not working?

You should call them.
It doesnt take that long to activate it.
Something is messed up on AT&T's end. Maybe the sim card, imei number needs to be entered on their system etc...
