How long should Disk First Aid take??

I'm running first aid in Disk Utility on my 4tb time machine back up drive to see if the drive is starting to fail. I've been getting errors "creating a back up folder" causing TM to fail. I have used 3tb on the drive over the past year. First Aid is taking 10-12 hours, but the drive usually checks out ok. Does that seem right? or is my drive on it's way out? Thanks!
