Now that the Air has a 1440x900 resolution, how long do you think it will take for that to filter to the Pro line?

Maybe a January/February refresh? The 13" macbook pros (as well as the macbooks) haven't been updated since May. That's just my speculation, I have absolutely nothing to factual to base that off of, so your guess is as good as mine. :)

They already do, its called Hi-Res...

15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy or optional antiglare widescreen display with support for millions of colors.

Supported resolutions: 1440 by 900 (native), 1280 by 800, 1152 by 720, 1024 by 640, and 800 by 500 pixels at 16:10 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio stretched; 720 by 480 pixels at 3:2 aspect ratio; 720 by 480 pixels at 3:2 aspect ratio stretched

My guess is that it will be available in the next refresh and if not then, for sure the next one; it's only a matter of time. Remember, the build of today's Macbook/(Pro) (before the 13-inch Pro) are all based of the MacBook Air (early 2008). Expect the 13-inch MacBook Pro to get similar specs from the new Air.

They will wait until Sandy Bridge. Expect at least February or most likely March. 13" will start with a 2.5GHz i5.

Steve clearly mentioned that the latest MAC OS "LION" will be available from summer 2011.Among all mac products (viz. mac mini, imac, macbooks, mac pro, macbook air) its macbook's turn this time to get some updates. So,I guess they gonna be launching LION With the new macbooks.By that time sandy bridge will also be launched and hence I expect them to make there way into macs as well...
This is my personal interpretation,I may be wrong...

Sadly I hope they don't update it soon, Only because I just bought a macbook air and need time to rebudget. It is approaching the 8 months though that apple seems to update the pros at in dec...

Hah...What? Just because Apple decides to update, doesn't make your computer any less useful. I'm not trying to be an ass in anyway but I find that Apple users are anal and care too much about the small things and rarely about actually using their product.

If this res makes into 13 mbp, I might def push for 13 mbp instead of 15 high res.

I agree. I'm often guilty of it myself. I got my MacBook Pro in April a week or so after the newest ones were released, and I'm already making plans for getting a new one in the Spring. But on the other hand, I do use my current 13" every day for audio production and editing so it's definitely being used. I'm just itching for a slightly faster CPU and possibly some higher rez on the new 13".
