How long till 2G 3G Jailbreak?

I know it might take a while to unlock 3G or 3GS. (unlikely 2G will be hard to unlock) but is there any word on when 2G 3G ownders can enjoy 3.0 jailbreak? I wanna upgrade but I can't live without jailbreaking:mad:
