It's random. There are plenty of 2010 iMacs listed in the US refurb store. Or were you looking for a 2011?

2010 , 2.93Ghz Model , None in the UK store

This is the iMac I've been eying. Since I'm in the States, based on your info, I pulled the trigger. Alas, no Educational Bonus on the refurbs. So there was no reason to wait for that.

On the plus side, the rep said that some of the iMacs in the refurb store are really new overstocks that never sold....
