I know the amount of time would obviously vary, but what shipping speed does Apple use? Specifically, I want to know if an iPhone I'd order today would arrive at my house by Christmas. For reference, I live in Maryland. Also, the shipping estimates are now at 2-4 business days. How reliable is this usually?

How long would an iPhone 5 bought from Apple's website take to arrive?

Add a day onto the estimated time to ship. At least with my MacBook Pro, Apple used 1 day shipping.
