I'm really excited, I currently own an iPod Nano and it's such a great device.

Anway, the iPod Nano is mainly my gym pod :) and for everyday tasks, calendaring and notes I want to buy an iPod Touch.

The only thing that concerns me is if there are any special charging procedures that I may need to know about or what are best pracitises.

I heard or read, not sure now - but that the iPod Touch battery is good for about 500 charge cycles? Is that sound about right? Can I get the battery replaced by Apple if the iPod Touch is still good but the battery is failing?

So many questions. Thanks everyone! I'm also a newb switcher to Apple computers and products after a long time in the Windows world. :apple:

just follow the regular.

check the manual and apple for details.

The battery is replaced for a fee.

Maybe under warranty, otherwise apple charges about $80 to replace it. I say don't worry about it, you'll likely want something new before it dies.
