We have seen many mock ups of the iPhone 8 being jet black or all black.

We heard of many rumors how the iPhone 8 might run in some production issues and having more colors just mean doing more things at once.

Will it be like the iPhone 4? Black first then white? Also the Samsung S8 all have black display cover to hide all the sensors. Will Apple do the same?

I was going to say just black and white because my first instinct was thinking the whole phone would be one color because of Apple's desire to make a "seamless" design (think the Jet Black iPhone). We know the rear and front will both be glass, and I don't see Apple making gold, rose gold, or silver glass. Think of how tacky that would look. It will either be all black and all white, or black and white fronts and rears with the steel band in between featuring the different metallic colors - gold, rose gold, silver, etc.

I agree, even the White model will be hard to do. Back silver and front black, not that great

And what about "RED"?
The current "RED-WHITE" combination doesn't look so cool.Hope Apple bring a "RED-BLACK" combination in next iPhones.it will be my first Choice:)

Seriously? This statement comes off as very pretentious. Why does the Red iPhone have to "Look Cool" For someone to own it? Based on your statement, Should the customer choose another color otherwise because Red is not a status symbol with the white bezel?

I used to like the Red. It was different. But with so many chinese low budget android phones are also in Red. May be a few shades different but close enough to apple's Red. So the Red somehow has reduced my liking. I personally would like the new 8 comes in Navy Blue. And for the lighter colors may be turquoise and pearl white metalic. Usually apple is pretty good at choosing new colors in the past.

He was just stating his opinion that he didn't like the red and white. I don't either and that is why I won't buy one. If Apple comes out with a red back with black front, if it has minimal bezels on the iPhone 8, then I will probably buy the red color but not with the white front.

I'm really not sure on this one. I think on one hand, Apple knows customers like a choice of colours and so should want to bring out a new design of iPhone with various choices of colour. On the other hand, if this new iPhone 8 is a glass and stainless steel design then going back to iPhone 4/4s, which were only available in Black and White, might be the only way to go.

Either way, I reckon at the minimum we'll have a choice of 2 colours (Black and White), and a maximum of 6 colours (Black, Jet Black, Silver/White, Gold, Rose Gold, Red).

I'm hoping they don't try the polished black again. That was a debacle for people that pre-ordered it.

But if they roll back to an all glass front/back like the 4/4s, Apple should have mastered the painting process that delayed the white launch...meaning they very well could try multiple colors at launch.

I reckon if they go with all colours that are currently available they will definitely keep the Jet Black around. Mainly for the reason it makes the device look seem-less from back to front. No doubt it was easy to scuff, scratch and just too fragile, but many should realise that before buying that colour due to how glossy finish products normally turn out. Hopefully they can make Jet Black more durable this time around.

Then again, going back to iPhone 5 the Slate colour was very fragile and they took that colour choice out and replaced it with Space Grey for the 5s so who knows really?

The glass would be shiny, then they may have to polish the steel/aluminum sides. It'd definitely be a unique look.

I personally think the jet black iPhone was a horrible choice in color. I'm sorry jet black iPhone owners, but I do. Of course I want my phone to stay pristine the whole time I have it...

That said I really really really want a navy or midnight blue iPhone with black front. That would be my perfect iPhone

I can understand the preference for a Red/black combination, which I also would prefer reduced bezels. Hopefully the iPhone 8 offers something similar in terms of build.

However in my opinion, it sounds sophomoric to classify a phone not being "Cool" one way or the other for someone's choice to want a color. To me, that sounds inane to say that. To each their own.

It's pretty obvious that the majority of people prefer red/black to red/white.

Is there really going to be red/black or red/white ?
or anything/black or white?

I thought its edge to edge screen? So the front is always black.

I agree with you. But if you read my above post in #6, I was addressing a totally different point to another forum member who claims iPhone colors should be rated "Cool" based off one's preference. Which sounds sophomoric in my Opinion. But I digress.

If it were an edge to edge display as rumored for the future iPhone, then that would greatly reduce the bezels proportionally along the side of the iPhone. But as it stands and how Apple is, they likely won't pair a black border with a black display aside from the Matte Black or Jet Black color variant.

The 4 would have launched with black and white at the same time, but due to paint issues with the white iPhone it was delayed.

I do believe it will come in more than two colors.

We will at least have 2 colors, it will be black and white.

I really do think that it will eventually come in RED. Jet Black is as likely as the RED version. Silver, Gold, Rose Gold will be next in line to be available.

If Apple only have 2 colors available (Black and White), I really do think that the other colors will be available on the enforced Stainless steel band that goes around the device. (Has been render before)

It will look something like this

Because of the glass cover backing the colors look more shiny than previous iphones

Red White is cooler than red black, otherwise Apple would not manufacture it. Remember. Apple is a company who appreciates a beauty and makes beautiful products.

The current red/white looks better than your photo, hands down.
