In the past how long has it taken for refurb iPhones to show up in stores after their launch? Also are refurbished iPhones only available through carriers like AT&T and Verizon because I don't think I've ever seen refurbished iPhones on the Apple website.

No one knows exactly how long it takes refurbs to show up in stores but I would think at least 30 days minimum to more likely 60 days.

Yes, Apple stores have refurbs as well. That is what they give out to folks who return their phones. IMO, the reason that you don't see them for sale on Apple's website is because so many iPhones are returned by people with OCD that they need to keep all of them on hand for returns.

There's generally a difference between what the carriers call refurbished and what Apple calls refurbished.

If you're talking about ones you can buy from the carriers at a (slightly) reduced price, it probably won't be for a few months after the release.

If you mean the ones Apple has on stock to replace problematic new phones with, they could very easily have them in stock at launch.
