How many guys have had a man-icure(hah!)

Ok, since I've already done myself in with the bad pun, I'll get straight to the point. My hands are an absolute mess(my girlfriend even asked if they hurt) so I should probably go ahead and get one, but I have no idea what is involved in the process. How many guys here have gotten one and if so is there anything special I should look for/request?

Yeah, I'm becoming aware of that, though that is not my only problem, the skin around my fingernails peels easily and I have some callouses from working out.
