Apple claims that you get 9 hours on a new rmbp, one charge surfing the web with safari on 75% brightness (12 clicks).
How much do you really get?

I get 7 hours on my mid 2012 cMBP browsing the 'net and writing.

I force the integrated graphics card using gfxcardstatus, my brightness is at about 25% and I use Chromium build 235555.

Previously, on Mountain Lion, I would get about 4.5/5.5 hours.

Thats very good but how about 75% brightness?

Late 2013 rMBP doing light/medium load work for school (Aperture photo organizing, Web, Pages, Numbers, Etc) I get about 9 hours with keyboard backlight at 1 click brightness and screen at about 45% (7 clicks backlight).

Allow the brightness to get higher for editing, photoshop and music.
Usually try to keep it plugged in whenever I'm in my studio space, class or home for a solid amount of time.

I opened this thread because i noticed that i only get 5 1/2 hours of netflix on full brightness.
Also the battery app predicts 5 1/2 hours atm with 90% charge and only light browsing on 12 clicks (75%).
Apple claims 9 hours. doesn't this seem kinda low?

What you are getting is pretty good.

Apple's numbers are for light web browsing not watching Netflix which obviously uses a lot more CPU power.

That would be why.

Apple don't measure with Netflix running, it would be like Ford quoting gas mileage at 100mph...it just isn't going to be pretty.

so i guess this is for the rMBP 13" because for the late 15" is 8H apple claims. So i get around 8h 45min for web browsing at 50% brightness
