I was sent a replacement 2g shuffle. It has been charging on my computer for about 5 hours now. How many does it usually take? Still hasn't turned green

Just as an afterthought, could it be anything to do with that I'm charging it on my computer? Would I be better off buying an AC?

it should be fine through ur computer. i'd just charge it over night once in awhile, thats what i do. (apple says it does a full charge in 4 hours, and 80% in 2 hours)

have u disconnected it/ejected it from itunes...if not, that may be what's causing the orange light

Yes disconnected from itunes I even charged it in the AC adapter and still orange light. I was told by apple to discharge the battery completely and restore it. Will that help?

I'm having a similar issue. Once it took three days to charge or to at least turn the light green. Not sure whats up.

Well the person at apple told me to discharge the ipod and restore it. I'm discharging it and can't believe its still going at 17 hours when Apple said it should only be 12

You probably got the ultra high capacity iPod shuffle battery.
Now with 72 hour charging time. :p
