My wife and I are both with AT&T on a family plan right now. The 3G will be our first Iphones. My wife has to work Friday I took the day off. Will I be able to get 2 Iphone without her there? I hope so would just be silly to only be able to buy 1 phone when a lot of people are on their family plans. If anyone that works at AT&T reads this what do you think?

according to several at&t reps, they're going to be very strict on only one per person, if you have a family plan you'll have to have the family members with you.

I was planning on going in and getting one for me and my husband as I took the day off, now we're both going.

I spoke to the GM of the ATT store I am going to. He stated that in their conference call, they stated only 1 iPhone per person. But.... one per person could even be a mother and a baby in a stroller
( for a total of 2 phones ) . I am actually bringing my 7 year old son with me around 530 in the am to keep me company AND get the second iPhone for my wife.

Yeah, it's one per person in line, *regardless of age*. So yes, you could take a day-care full of kids to the store and get 15 or 20 iPhones :) And get on the news too!

it doesn't make sense. You're buying family plan and paying for more than 1 Iphones and what do they need the other person to be there for? I think the 1 person/iphone policy is for individual plan subscriber. I hope Apple & AT&T will clear this up next week. So let us call for confirmation next week ;). Especially for the people like me who will be getting family plan and you can't take the other person with you.

Im in the same situation as you. As the CRU and the IRU of a corporate account, I cant take my wife with me in line to purchase a 2nd iPhone on a family plan. We're both doctors and im already burning Friday to get the phones and she's in surgery all day. I called my account specialist with ATT premier and explained the situation, he annotated in my account what I was telling him and under the special instructions portion of your account, he allotted permission for me to purchase 2 iPhones on my account and my wife's account. He told me if the CSR or the store manager has problems with it, to refer to account notes, and furthermore, if they still will not honor it, for them to call him, my account specialist or Corporate. Hope this helps.

Okay, now im really confused. I've spoken with different reps more than once about me getting a phone for both my wife and I, my wife being not present, and they each time confirmed that I could with the family plan.

Its times like this that I ask why im switching over to a dysfunctional company such as ATT.
Has anyone else been told the same thing???

So wth, I want to have my Mom add a new line (me) thus creating a family plan. Does that mean I need to be there to get the iPhone?

There are so many different things, it gets confusing. To be honest, it isn't their fault, because half the time they don't even know what EXACTLY you are asking. But as it states, 1 PER PERSON IN LINE. So if you are with 2 people, you can get 2 iPhones. Doesn't get much clearer.

No, you do not have to be there.
