How many mAh's of power does the iPhone 4 hold?

I'm looking for a portable charger for my phone and iPad. I found the Duracell Powerhouse, it holds 2000mAH's and I wanted to know how many the iPhone/iPad hold so I can have an idea of how much it'll charge my iDevices and how many portable chargers I would need. Thanks in advance for any help.

The iPhone 4's battery is 1420mAh, but there isn't going to be a direct link between that and the power that your portable charger can provide.

Depending on how heavy you use your iPhone it could be less then the 1420mAh. Mine for example will only hold 1240mAh, it has 270 cycles on it.

How did you figure out how much mAh your iphone holds and how many cycles you it has no it? Im doing a experiment and if you used an app please tell me, thanks

Keep in mind there are a lot of losses in the transfer of power. For example a 2000 mAh battery can't completely charge another 2000 mAh battery.

It's even worse since when you are charging the phone is still using power. But by and large they are a good help.

I have a 2000 mAh Sony battery and it can't charge my iPhone 4S up once. But it's nice in a pinch to get a little battery boost. I also have a 10,000 mAh battery from Satechi, it can charge my iPhone up several times.

To giant the phone is fully charged I would buy something in the region of 2500mah and up.
