How many MB does an iPhone 4S record Audio file?

I am planing to buy an iPhone 4S but I don't know which capacity should I chose.

I think I will record up to 8 hours.

Also, I don't know which is the best format for recording audio?
( *.mp3 ; *.aac or *.wav )
