If able to run it of course. I'm still using 3.0.1... old boot rom 3GS... so I guess I could upgrade to 4.0 and JB easily. Still not sure if the upgrade is really worth it.

Thoughts?

I would say it is worth it. I much prefer IOS4 on the 3GS than 3.0. Folders and customization options have gone up nicely since then.

I would say make sure you have your info on file with cydia and update to 4.0.1 and jailbreak via jailbreakme.com.

Personally I think the Iphone is a lot nicer since IOS3 but that is my opinion.

I have my SHSH blobs on file for 3.1.3, 4.0 and 4.0.1... at least that is what Cydia says...

Maybe I'll give it a try this weekend. Will I be able to keep all of my currently installed apps or will have to reinstall all of them?

Yeah, you'll be able to keep all of your apps and stuff. The best part is that since you have your SHSH's saved, you can always go back whenever you want.
