With a DVI to HDMI cable how many of you use this as your primary monitor?
Is it true that the mac mini can upconvert dvd's to play on your hdtv?

Thanks!!

My TV accepts DVI at 1920x1080, so I connect it that way and it looks great. DVDs I play look fine, but I'm not sure how they're represented - I usually just use the sub-$100 DVD player I bought for that purpose.

I'd be interested to get a perspective of how everything runs with a mac mini through a receiver. Every time I come home to visit my dad complains about how he hates his EyeHome and wants to put in a mac mini instead. Does the mac mini's sound card support surround sound also or would you have to buy an external usb sound card?

It doesn't output surround by default, but this is supposed to be pretty decent.

I highly recommend waiting a week for the MWSF '07 keynote speech to see if the iTV is shipping soon, as that might be a much better solution, as it appears to be intended for home multimedia.
