I got my 7,1 without the og packaging. I’ve found a seller shifting the box and internals for £40 shipped, even though it’s gonna go in the attic for now I’m very tempted.

My first Mac Pro came with the box and accessories, purchased from a small company that had leased it out 🥰
The other I purchased through eBay, and was a bit disappointed that it didn't come in the original white box.

I agree with the others, the box and accessories do increase the resale value

I usually do but in any case, I also take a photo of the label on the box for records.
It's proof of ownership and includes the serial number. You might not think you need it but if your phone is lost or stolen and you haven't noted it down then you don't have it, and if you then later need to prove it was yours.....

Being a saddo, I keep EVERY box for every Mac/Accessory.
As mentioned by @apostolosdt it does increase resale value (but I never sell any of my Apple gear…..;))

Same but I got rid of the MP box after a couple of years. It takes up a serious amount of space in my closet. And I'm not planning on ever selling this. It's not my main workstation any more, but it's got at least another 5 years of life left as a server. By 2030, it won't be worth it to sell.

I purchased mine used and unfortunately it didn't come with original packaging. I hoard every box from all of my PC builds , gaming consoles etc. Some have been destroyed over the years , like my Commodore and Amiga boxes. But still have A LOT. For $40 I would purchase.

I guess that would be $55/60ish if you’re in the US.

Either way I’ve ordered one.

It'll allow you to ship by post if you come to sell, thus raising its retail value somewhat. Trying to get adequate packaging with alternate boxing is more than £40 worth of hassle imho.

Yes, I kept them. To be precise, it's actually two boxes, the brown one and then the white branded box that is inside the brown one.

The boxes are useful for shipping these computers. Try finding another suitable box for the purpose, then appropriate internal protective packing for that box, very difficult. Better to keep what Apple already did.

I even kept the brown box that Apple ships it in as that has SN stuff as well! lol

As another person mentioned, it was super helpful for when I moved halfway across the country.
