I recently purchased a S7, and I purchased a clear silicone bumper case that just pops onto my watch. I also applied liquid screen protector to it. My previous long-term watch was the series 3 and when I traded it in, the finish was coming off on the crown, and a couple other spots, and 3 scratches on the screen, one was very deep. I got this as I don't want to damage this beautiful piece of technology. I tend to be careless and clumsy.

I'm just curious, how many people do bumper cases? My guess is most people don't as it kinda ruins the aesthetic of the watch.

Nope. I did use a plastic film screen protector for the first 12 months and since then have gone without. Still looks as new.

Never have since S0, and never had a screen protector either. Sapphire is not scratch-free but so many times better than ion-x.

But 1 thing I always get for my AW: AC+

I bought a protection case for my S7 and installed it, but the thing is hampering charger (when put on Belkin charger), so I took it off and use naked. Indeed, I had 3-4 Apple Watches and always used them without cases or protection glasses. For tough work and outfield, I have G shock and Protrek and Casio with backlight, so AW doesn't leave town

I do, with a screen protector. I think the corners are the weakest part of the Apple Watch, and some of the screen protectors I had before broke when I hit my watch on the corner. It's just a few dollars, and can save a very expensive screen repair.

I can see why you get a case for aluminum Apple watches since they don’t fare well with scratches, dents etc. I have stainless steel series 4 and it has maybe one scratch on it… I paid a premium but it still lasts and works great. No case for me.

No case ever or AC+ on any the AWs.. no issues.. I ever wear it at the beach ( dunk it in ocean water )

I have a UAG one for my S5 that I use on occasion when I’m performing site inspections on fire loss properties. It’s been a good (but very ugly) protection to have from damaging my AW.

What I have found otherwise is how durable the aluminium AW actually is. I was on the fence going SS instead, this was my first AW, but chose aluminium in the end thinking that I’ll be replacing it for a S6 or S7 anyway. But I never did, still using my trusty S5 and I don’t think I’ll upgrade this year either. It’s been a rock solid watch, battery is now at 81% so I’ll get a battery replacement soon and have a new watch again.

I’m not babying my AW, I’m using the hell out of this thing. Sure, it’s got a few minor hairlines and a small scratch in the casing, but it still looks great and works perfectly.

Smashed a screen once so bought a bumper because it has a raised edge but then gave up (SS with sapphire). Tbh I was afrad of damaging the crown every time I took it off or put it on as it was a really tight fit. No probs since, did buy AC+ just as well as my S5 battery is collapsing.

I use a Spigen bumper with no screen protection on my SS AW 7 LTE. Working in the construction industry it has saved the watch and taken its share of abuse. If your pushing paper U may not need it, however doing physical activities it may pay off.

Stainless steel or titanium. I don’t worry about bumps and hits.
