One of the employees at the Apple store in UTC told me that he anticipates a significant number of people who wait in line to be turned away either due to:

-Failing the credit check and not havng enough money to cover the deposit (which AT&T has told me is minimum $100, max $800)

-Current AT&T customers who didn't check their eligibility to upgrade before waiting in line, and they fail eligibility

It seems to me if someone is camping out early for an iphone, they would bother to make sure they qualify for credit or upgrade eligibility before waiting in line, but I guess not everyone is smart enough to do that.

I think he meant for this part to apply to the second instance as well.
