I have several Macs. I have an ogpu which works fine with both 2018 Mac Mini - 2012 Mac Mini - 2016 MacBook Pro
Although the 2018 is spec'd out I still find myself switching the older MacBook Pro since it switches flawlessly with Caldigit T3 Hub and Sonnet Puck, as I prefer working in different places from time to time outside and even in my house or outside since due to pandemic quite often work from home.

I like having all of my files with me, even though I have files synched across units. Curious how others manage if they will use their MacBook more even though they have other equipment.

Just a curiosity stream? Whatever works is what works!!

Thanks

Yup. Been my MO for years before 2019 (switched from a Late 2013 MacBook Pro to 2019 iMac 27” + 2019 13” Base MBP).

Before Apple soldered everything down, I upgraded my 256 GB solid-state drive to 2 TB, was able to keep all of my data with me at all times without spending exorbitant money, I was able to edit videos on the go, and do everything on the go.

Purchased a 2019 16” for work and now in a similar situation, the only reason I’ll boot up the iMac is for video edits and VMs and Age of Empires II (base model 16”, 512GB SSD on the 16” keeps me using the iMac which has a 2TB USB C SSD attached).
