1,093 mp3 songs at 128kbps rate = 4 GB

I used to have over 1,500 during the Napster days, but lost it when my computer crashed or lost the burned CD's for it.

All my songs stored in my iPhone 4, Pixi Plus, PSP (with 32 GB card), VAIO laptop, CD-R's, Amazon Cloud, and Google Music Beta. Sold my iPods last year. I am a bit more picky on what to add. If I combined all the songs I used to from before with the songs I have now, I'd have maybe about 3K. But I am content with keeping it more limited to keep the storage usage lower and sometimes use the TuneIn Radio app or Pandora in case I get bored of my songs.

I manage all my songs with iTunes, MediaGo, and Zune software to prepare myself of getting an WP7 phone. And also drag and drop for my Pixi Plus because I hate DoubleTwist which gives me random duplications of songs.

That is a good idea. That will give me a lot of space back. I will never listen to all that music anyway. I listen to most of my music while at the gym

I honestly have ZERO songs right now on my iPhone. I mainly use my shuffle or iPod nano to play songs when I'm on the go. I have an 8 GB iPhone 3G and I have around 7.5 GB of apps on there. I figured that I'd save battery life too by not using the iPhone as a music player. When I get the new iPhone 5 though I'd probably add songs since I plan on getting the 32 gb version.

I have the ipod touch 16 gig I should put most if it on there

About 500 songs. I have ~2500 in my iTunes but I just take my few favorites from every artist and put them on the phone.

It says 4746. Wasn't expecting that many. (but then, I DO have a boatload of CDs. If I ever digitize my vinyl album collection, I might need another 8 iPhones. :)

I only have around 1,200 (around 5.5 GB's, files are anywhere from 128 to 320 kpbs)...i only put on songs i like, not full CD's if i dont like some of the songs on it. There are songs on there that i havent heard in weeks even with only 1,200 and i listen to it often when going on walks/jogs.
I have all my music on my Micro card so it takes up zero space on my phone.

I can also play the same songs plus the 200 free ones i got from Google music on my phone which dont take up any space on it.
