assuming that you are referring to a powerbank with 5000mAh:
  • The 12 mini has a battery capacity of 2,227 mAh.
  • The rule of thumb of the minimum capacity required for 1 charge = smartphone capacity * 1.5. This takes (roughly) in account that the actual capacity of a power bank is close to 2/3, which is the result after the energy lost in the voltage conversion and transfer. It does not take in account any age related decay of the power bank.
If you start with that powerbank fully charged, you can charge the 12 mini fully once.

EDIT: changed rule of “thimb” to “thumb” 🤪

A fully charged 5000mAh powerbank can only charge a 12 mini fully for one time only?? Still worth getting one as a backup plan? I can get one new by Belkin for about $8 in secondary market. Still worth getting?
