Such things can’t be either good / bad for your device. Generally restoring and setting up as new is the last resort if one is facing software related glitches.

I did a fresh install one time on my iPad Pro 9.7, on the recommendation of an Apple Tech. it didn't do anything for me. Every other time, on every other iPad, I've just restored from a backup & it's been perfectly fine.
I've never run into a situation on any of my apple devices where I needed to wipe and do a factory restore, until the day I traded them in and upgraded such devices. Have used Apple devices since 2008
