....and what do you use it for? Any business applications?

I personally don't really use anything but if I do it is adium that uses my hotmail account.

Nope. I don't really use IMs, and Skype is a better choice for video conferencing because so many I know use Windows.

I use it to talk to and share files with business associates who live in different states, and I also use it to communicate with friends.

Use it to talk to friends in the USA, my dad who is in Dubai (where I believe skype is banned) and friends in other parts of the UK.

Looking forward to the new version in Leopard, should be fun to put silly backgrounds on, but the photo sharing looks good.

I am always brought back to iChat because of the video chat capabilities. I'm a big fan of Adium, but iChat plus the Chax plugin (absolutely essential) make it my choice at the moment.

I find Adium X quite nice since I have an old ICQ account, an MSN account, a .Mac identity (from a 60 day .Mac trial) and a newer Google Talk account with some friends in each "network". :)

I'd love to, but until they fix the crappy ICQ support, it's fairly useless to me. I'll admit that I _do_ occasionally use the Bonjour feature at work, but that's about it

I use iChat. Yet, it's usually without choosing the actual program. I have Adium and iChat right next to each other, and whichever I click first is what I use for the day. Unless I'm doing file transfers; I use iChat for that.

I use it to do multi-video conferencing with my mom (Taiwan) and sister (Philippines). It works great because both of them are on Macs too.

I sometimes use it to video chat with my PC-user older sister via AIM. Works fine.

I use Adium as well, except for video chats with my parents back home once a month or so. I have a hunch that I'll be using iChat a whole lot more after Friday though...

Adium X here, thank you very much. I've got an original external iSight, but I never use it because nobody I know does video chatting. So that was basically $150 right down the drain. :(

Not really. Think of it as more of an investment. That iSight is worth more now, even used, than the day you bought it. Sell it on eBay, or even here in the marketplace.
