if not redesign but has retina or drastically improved battery w/ bump in res(like mba res for 13 inch) ?

I have been on mb late 2009 ever since and I am not sure how much longer I want to wait... If mbp comes out next couple weeks.. it's gonna be hard.. even if it doesn't look like mba.
But mba's portability is very important to me as well.

I want one anyway. The only reason I haven't bought the current one is because I want to see what they come out with. As long as it is something new I want it!

I would still purchase it. Be nice to have most of my "stuff" with retina displays.

If they make it like the MacBook Air so that you can't upgrade the RAM then I won't buy another EVER.

Part of me actually wants to buy the old model while I can just because I know they'll probably pull the optical drive out of the next one.

Well to be honest I decided to not buy the 2011 one in hopes of a redesign this year. I'll probably end up buying it anyway if there is no redesign unless it is significantly crippled (no discrete gpu, underpowered processor, heat problems, not enough ports, etc.)

I want the following things. I don't care if it's called an Air or a Pro, whichever comes closest gets my money:

(This list isn't necessarily in order)

:apple:15 inch display - preferably 16:10, not 16:9
:apple:Quad-core I7
:apple:Ability to be ordered with or upgrade to 8 GB of RAM (if user upgradable, I'll order the minimum and upgrade to 16). Obviously I prefer user-upgradable.
:apple:No optical drive
:apple:No traditional hard drive
:apple:Gigabit ethernet (but I'm OK if it's through a USB 3.0 dongle)
:apple:USB 3.0
:apple:SSD drive (128 or preferably 256)
:apple:>1080p resolution with anti-glare
:apple:No more than 1 lb more than my 13" MacBook Air
:apple:Ability to drive 2 Thunderbolt displays
:apple:Not losing any ports/features we have now.

I prefer the Air styling over the Pro, but not a dealbreaker.

If there's no redesign, I'll get the 15" BTO flagship on day 1. I don't even want Retina. That will just suck more battery juice. Give me the current high resolution with killer battery life and we're on. I just need Ivy Bridge and Kepler, better noise and thermal management, and yes, battery. Come on, Apple, BRING IT!!!

I'll be happy with Ivy bridge and a 7000 series AMD gfx card, imo nothing else needs to change and I'll get one

I want them to put a nice GPU in the 13", an increase in resolution to 1650+ would be great (however a 'retina' display at that resolution or higher would be awesome) with a quad core CPU and both a headphone and microphone slot.

No need for a redesign, I value features over form in this case, especially when the current MBP is one of the best aesthetically available.
