How might I make a production company bumper video?

I want to create a standard "production company-like" bumper to go on all the DVDs I make from home movies.

I'm looking to do something simple, only a few seconds long, but preferably has a bit of animation to it.

What kind of apps could I use to do this?

I would use flash, but there is a learning curve involved.
