I'm trying to learn some dynamically loaded web coding and was wondering...

How does MR deal with and load articles on the main page? I don't need/want source code, since it is yours, but I was wondering, like what language does it use? How are the articles stored? Just a general idea.

Thanks.

They use a CMS for the news front page and vBulletin for the forums.

Yep they use WordPress to handle the members and article blog. To replicate this you could download WordPress, grab a free front page blogging theme and off you go.

They use IP blocking to prevent access to the admin pages, which can easily be spoofed. Hopefully they have other means to protect their backend to prevent a security breach.

If you're talking about the MacRumors front page, it is WordPress with many customization's.
It took me a while, but I truly think that IS the way to go. WordPress is fantastically powerful as a base install. Throw some PHP into the mix and you truly can create something unique.
