How much battery charge on a new rMBP straight out of the box?

Will it be at 100%?

I got one arriving tomorrow, and I am planning on taking it with me on my trip. There won't be anywhere to plug in the charger for a few days, so I was wondering if I will have to leave it at home or if the new rMBP ships with 100% charge.

Mine was about 70%. No reason you can't take it with you.

Take it with you - 50% will work well.

It depends purely on how long it's been hanging around before being sold. It could be anywhere from in the 90's-% to dead on arrival.

Storing a battery at 100% is bad for it. Since Apple has absolutely zero clue as to the amount of time between the machine being built and it being sold, they ship it with proper storage charge. Usually it should hover between 40 and 60%.

Picked mine up 3 week of July 2015 @ 89% charge level. The rMBP was built in the first week of July 2015.

Believe it or not mine had 100 percent.

I got mine (2015 rMBP 13") yesterday and it was > 90%. Lasted around 10 hours

I got one Saturday and i'd say it was around 80% I'd say.
