I purchased my 15", 2.4GHz SR MBP on June 2007. Since then on, I barely get over 2hrs of battery life. I have calibrated the battery several times.

I get far less battery time if I am using bluetooth, wi-fi, and internal speakers.

So I just wanted to see if anyone is getting anything close to the advertised 6 hours of battery life. Also, it would be helpful if you could post the conditions under which you clocked the battery time (such as state of wifi, bluetooth, brightness, charge cycles, etc.)

Thanks!

EDIT: My battery has 56 cycles.

whenever i'm on battery power, brightness is down to less than half, wifi is on and bluetooth is off. volume is down to about a quarter, and i get roughly 3.5 hours of use.

Dang, there are people getting over 4 hours of battery life?

I am beginning to suspect that my battery might be faulty...

My 17" gets just over 2 hours. It has 89 cycles. My TiBook get just under 2 hours and it has 331 cycles... Hmm... I don't think that's right. Could system profiler be wrong?

Battery life depends on too many things, are you watching a movie, are you just making a word document, what is your brightness at? There are too many factors that can have an influence.

I have a 2.2 sr mbp i got in august 2007. just unplugged it at 100% and it says 4:36, with music on and airport on. How do find out the cycles?

Until yesterday I was only getting about 30 minutes, but with my AppleCare replacement I'm now back up to around 3.5 hours. :)

15" 1.83 Core Duo set at 50% screen brightness, 20% keyboard backlight (in low light), bluetooth off, wi-fi on, 2 charge cycles - 3rd battery from new

battery health 95% 22 cycles.
With screen at 50% brightness, keyboard lights off, bt off, while surfing and word processing i get abt 4 hrs.

Purchased September of 2007.

When running on battery I get 4+ hrs. Always have blutooth turned off and brightness is down almost all the way. Usually typing in Office, Camino, iChat and the Mail application when on battery power (95% of the time). Then I'll leave myself a sticky note when I put it to sleep.

Keyboard lights are never on when using the battery.

The other 5% is when I have to boot up XP using Vmware and the battery life will instantly cut in half to 2+ hrs.

Brightness @ 50%
BT off
Wifi off (yes I actually use a cable)
Speakers @ 50%

Internet, e-mail, iTunes etc.... over 3 1/2, very close to 4 hours. Battery has been cycled over 90 times.

I NEVER ever ever have gotten 6 hours ,even when it was brand new.
I get about 3 hours when I am running bluetooth and wireless internet, and 4 hours if i am not using anything.
1.5 hours gaming.

93% Health (Quite low, may get an Apple Genius to exchange for a new one next time I find myself in an Apple Store).

I usually get around 3:30 hours, WiFi on, BlueTooth off, 50% brightness, keyboard backlight on.

I was quite pleased about a week ago when I got about 2 hours, playing The Matrix full screen on an external monitor (1680x1050), about 5 more movies (playing on the internal monitor, audio off), iTunes playing with the sound off, and Transmission downloading at 150Kb/s (crappy Internet aside...). All for the sake of a battery life test :D.

You can look on the About This Mac thing and scroll down to battery, or just download Coconut...it's a great app.

you have to remember that that 6 hours is when the laptop monitor is either all the way down (brightness) or off, your wifi, bt, rf, w.e off. keyboard blacklight off, nothing in the super drive, and its just sitting there.

thats when you get 6 hours. but since thats not realistic, your not going to get that.

I generally always have my backlit keyboard on, and the brightness at near max. Unless its dark in the room, ill turn it down, or if im trying to conserve battery power, because I look at the battery meter and it says less than 1 hour left, and I go "Oh crap!":p
