Find it hard to believe that apple reckon AirTags batteries will last a year before needing to be replaced.

Had mine since launch 30th April, a little under 2 month now, battery is already down to 80%.

How’s your battery holding up?

The two I have used since launch still are full battery, or close to it. Not sure how to tell exact percentage like OP.

Go into the find my airtags section click on your name and you’ll see your battery percentage
???

"The battery icon does not provide a specific percent, but it's similar to an iPhone battery and will drain down over time."

Yep mine is roughly around 80% going off the battery icon.

Mine is showing full (got it on launch day), but I haven't really played with it much, just left it attached to my keys.

Chipolo One Spot also showing 100%, but that is newer.

btw guys...this is kinda line noise. Many things are cheaper in the US, but I can get 10 of these for $9 in Canada.

So...why worth even thinking about? :D

I’ve already had to change the battery on one of my AirTags bought on release. It was the one on my keys so arguably the one that travels the most I guess. The others are not saying they need to be changed yet. But yeah, I highly doubt they will last a year for most cases.

Air tags sat around in storage for 2 years before coming to market.. that wouldn’t help battery life..

Even if it were, an unloaded Lithium battery won't lose much capacity even after a couple of years.

90% on one and 85 on the other. Had them since launch. I tend not to lose things easily so I’ve only pinged one of them twice. I’m sure if you played the sound quite a bit it would diminish battery life.

I have a launch day AirTag, and by the looks of the battery icon it is still at 100% battery life.

I do not know how some people are distinguishing between 85% and 90% battery life, unless it is just a pure guess? I am running iOS 15 (latest developer beta) on my backup iPhone 11 Pro Max, and it does not show you the number value of the battery in the Find My app, which is the same display in the Find My app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 14.7.1.

Ditto. It’s still showing full according to the icon, but I can’t find an actual percentage.

Having said that, I’m still waiting on the blinking AirTags firmware update. Maybe when that finally happens.

I‘m currently running iOS 15 but I don‘t see the battery status of the AirTag in %. I thought this should be available in iOS 15?

Bought mine in May, pinged it a few times (less than 10), and it showed me a low battery warning a few days ago. I have to say that I'm not super happy with it actually.

Strange. Mine is still showing as full, despite buying on launch day and similar usage. Maybe yours was one of the earliest built ones, so older battery degraded by time, rather than usage.
