Hi there guys.

I'm thinking of selling my Mac Pro and doing a homebrew box again, I miss building my own stuff. I have no idea what this thing could fetch, so I'm just posting here...

It's a Mac Pro 2.66, 2 gigs of ram, 250GB HD, ATI X1900XT, 2nd Super Drive, and Apple Care until 11/2009.

If you configure all that on Apple.com, it's $3,395. I wouldn't know how much to take off since it's a few months old.

Thanks in advance!

about $3,000

Could I ask why your selling all your macs?

I'm actually not selling all my macs...I just don't have them all listed in my sig. We still have our Intel iMac, G5 iMac, and G4 iBook.

I want to get rid of the Mac Pro because I'm really not using it's full potential and I'd rather go back to a homebrew linux box and put a few extra $$ back in the bank.

Ok, seeing as how you have (SOLD) next to your MBP it looked like you were switching. Might have had to stop you.

Before ebaying you should try selling by cash only on craigslist. Rather than paying really high fees. You could also sell here but for a machine that expensive I would be leery of anything other than a cash payment.

i just bought a very similar machine on CL
2.66, 1gb ram, base graphics card, 4 HD's (3x400GB and 1x250), bt/AE & 2 superdrives
+ applecare for 2450$

the machine is from aug '06

you could easily sell your machine for 3K -- i admit mine was a steal

You could get 3K easy on that setup. Definitely not the type of machine to have laying around doing nothing lol. That's like having 3 grand burning a whole in your floor lol. There such nice computers, but I could never see myself needing so much power. Like many others have said, try Craigslist first. I would personally leave eBay as a last resort. Good luck! :)

Hmm, does anyone know how many posts I have to have to post in the classifieds forum? So far I haven't really gotten anything worthwile off craigslist.
